TERMS and CONDITIONS
By placing an order from the artist, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Please read them before proceeding.
ARTIST COPYRIGHT
Deposit payment. A £25 deposit secures and books your portrait. Payment to be made 7 days prior to starting your portrait. This deposit becomes non-refundable once your portrait has been started. The remaining balance is to be paid within 14 days of completion, before your portrait is sent.
Final payment. The remaining balance of the commission, plus applicable postage and delivery costs as agreed, is due on completion of the artwork and before it is shipped. Once the final payment is received, the finished artwork portrait will be delivered to your specified address.
The artist retains all copyright and reproduction rights to the artwork that is produced, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. You may not replicate, reproduce or sell copies of the artwork for any purpose without prior written permission. I reserve the right to use images of the portrait and all artwork for promotional purposes, website, social media, marketing use and in other promotional materials, unless you specifically express otherwise at the time of booking. If you would prefer that your artwork not be shared publicly, or if you would like me to wait for a specific period before sharing, e.g. if the portrait is a gift, please inform me at the time of booking. I will never make reproductions of a client’s pet portrait to sell to anyone else. Your purchase of the artwork is for personal use only, and it will be yours to display or gift as you wish.
I work directly from photographs provided by you. For best results, reference photographs must be of high quality, clear and detailed. I reserve the right to refuse the commission if photograph quality is insufficient. If this happens, I will work with you to obtain suitable reference material before proceeding. Photographs provided for reference images must have been taken by the client, or permission for their use obtained by client from the person who took them. If the project is to be a gift, you accept responsibility for sourcing and using images that are of the recipient’s pet. By sending me reference photos you grant me permission to use them in my publicity and social media, e.g. showing a comparison between the reference photo and the final artwork.
Any personal details you provide, such as your name, contact information, and shipping address, will be used solely for the purpose of processing and delivering your pet portrait commission. I will never share, sell, distribute or disclose personal information to third parties, except as required for shipping, and to observe relevant data protection laws, e.g. GDPR. If you choose to communicate via email or social media, your information will be kept secure and confidential. If you request that your commissioned artwork not be shared publicly, I will fully respect your request.
BOOKING
A non-refundable deposit of £25 secures and books your commission. You will provide me with reference photos, and/or approve the main reference photo you’d like me to use. The commission will be deemed booked when the deposit is received and a reference photo has been accepted. If you need the portrait completed by a specific date, e.g. for a birthday or special occasion, please inform me at this time of booking, and I will try to accommodate your request.

QUOTES
Each commission is different. Website pricings are a guide. I will provide final quotes once I understand your particular requirements. The quote will be valid for 30 days. If you alter some aspect of the brief, or the commission changes in some way, I may need to update the quote. I will let you know if any of the changes you want will have an effect on the cost of the commission.

POSTAGE AND DELIVERY
TIMESCALES
Completion window. I will give an estimate of the date I aim to start the artwork, and the date you should expect completion. While I will always endeavour to meet deadlines you may have, especially for gifts, unforeseen circumstances, factors such as busy periods or shipping and other factors outside of my control may mean this not be possible, and I can offer no guarantee. I will, though, keep you up to date with any changes to the timings and dates throughout the process of your portrait.
RIGHT TO CANCEL
The order may be cancelled within 7 days of paying the deposit for a full refund. If you cancel after work has commenced, the deposit is non-refundable. If, for any reason, you want to cancel your commission where work has been started and before the final payment is made, you are free to do so. I will, however, retain the deposit, and any amount already paid, and may request full payment for work completed to help cover loss of business, for time spent on the project so far. If you have not paid 30 days after notification of completion, and I have not heard otherwise, I will assume you want to cancel the commission.
I reserve the right to cancel a commission at any time for any reason including, but not limited to, personal circumstances, inability to complete the work to the required standard, or issues with reference materials, e.g. low-quality photographs. If I cancel the commission, you will receive a full refund of any payments made, including the deposit. No further compensation or claims will be accepted beyond the full refund of payment received.
CONTACT AND COMMUNICATION
Please provide all necessary details when placing your order at the time of booking, including the size of the portrait, pet name, preferred style and any special requests. If you would like updates or progress photos, please inform me at the time of booking.
CHANGES TO FINAL ARTWORK
On completion of the portrait, you will be given the opportunity to review the final artwork for approval before the final payment is made. Minor adjustments can be requested at this stage. This will be done at no additional cost. If you wish to make changes that are significantly different from the original order, then this may incur an extra cost. Once you have approved your portrait, no further amendments will be made.
Postage and delivery costs will be calculated based on your location, and will be added to your final payment. All orders are packaged appropriately to a high standard to prevent damage for delivery to the address you provide. Your artwork will be presented mounted with a back-board and delivered flat-packed. If the item is a gift, I can post it directly to the recipient, where you will let me know the address you would like me to send it to. Expected delivery times are 1 - 2 working days from despatch, however the shipping process is beyond my control. Delivery times may vary. I am not responsible for any damage that may occur during transit.
